Risom.Sekles is a newly established artist duo consisting of Amalie Risom Nyrup (DK) and Sarah Sekles (DE/BR).
Their focus lies on the topic of ecology and nature, the blooming and degeneration of plants, biodiversity and ecocentrism. The natural impact of seasonality as a time-based notion is always present in their work.
Artistic research is the method they use to ask questions revolving around ecological and geological caretaking, while mostly expressing their research through landart, videography and publication. They invite colleagues, local communities and generally interested beings for witnessing happenings together as a need to change behaviours as Earth dwellers.
Their works have been shown at Museum Kurhaus Kleve (DE), Nitja Senter for Samtidskunst (NO), Galleri F15 (NO), ROM Galleri (NO), Mildreds Lane Complex(ity) (US), the Natural History Museum and Botanical Garden (NO) and Røst AiR (NO).
Amalie Risom Nyrup and Sarah Sekles hold a Master degree in Art and Public Space from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts from 2023.
We are always open for collaborations, conversations and exchanges.
